LumberTech Scholarships
The LumberTech program offers training for all areas of the retail lumber operation including yard & delivery, sales, estimating, and management. WLDEF provides financial assistance of up to 50% of the registration fee for members attending LumberTech classes.
Current LumberTech classes include:
- Estimating 1-2-3
- Yard & Delivery Workshop
- Sales Development
- Advanced Operations Workship
- Introduction to Building Material Sales
- Gross Margin Management

Roundtable Assistance
You can learn a lot from your peers, that is why WLDEF would like to help members participate in theBLD Connection roundtables by offering an annual grant of $500 per company to help off-set the registration cost.
BLD offers several owner/manager roundtable groups including:
- Legacy Roundtable -Single retail yard location with sales volume of $1-$5 million.
- Classic Roundtable - Retail yards with one-two locations with sales volume of $5-$10 million.
- Heritage Roundtable - Multi-location retailers with sales volume of $25 million plus.
- Pinnacle Roundtable - Multi-location retailers with sales volume of $25 million plus.
WLDEF is also offering a $250 grant per company for any member that participates in BLD Connection Virtual Roundtable.
