Continuing to learn and develop new skills and ideas is always important, not only to business owners but their employees. WLDEF helps members enhance their knowledge & skills by providing financial assistance to attend Northwestern Lumber Association Roundtables and LumberTech classes.

Since 2009 WLDEF has granted over $166,700 in financial assistance and sponsorships of professional development events for the retail lumber industry.
You can learn a lot from your peers, that is why WLDEF would like to help members participate in the Northwestern Lumber Association roundtables by offering an annual grant of $500 per company to help off-set the registration cost.
NLA offers several owner/manager roundtable groups including:
NEW in 2020 - Virutal Roundtable Learning Groups. This new program offers seven online meetings with fellow LBM dealers from across the region. Five meetings will include a guest speaker on current leaderships topics. Grants of up to $250 are available to help off-set the cost of an NLA virutal roundtable.

The LumberTech program offers training for all areas of the retail lumber operation including yard & delivery, sales, estimating, and management. WLDEF provides financial assistance of up to 50% of the registration fee for members attending LumberTech classes.

To be a member of the WLDEF you must be a retailer or supplier of lumber or building materials that resides in Wisconsin and Upper Peninsula of Michigan and is a member in good standing of the Northwestern Lumber Association ("NLA").
