$167,000 Awarded in College Scholarships

Each year the WLDEF Board of Directors makes available scholarships to help students enrolling/enrolled in a post-secondary educational program that centers on, or supports, the lumber and building materials industry, the building trades or in small business management.  NEW for 2025/2026 - the full-time student requirement has been removed from the elgibility requirements.

These are one-year scholarships in the amount up to $4,000. The committee will consider the length and cost of the program when determining a scholarship award. Scholarships for multiple semester programs will be paid 50% fall semester/50% spring semester. Second semester awards are contingent upon passing grades for the first semester.

Eligibility Requirements For Student Scholarships:   

• Must live in Wisconsin or Michigan Upper Peninsula 
• Must be enrolling in a program that centers on, or supports, the lumber and building materials industry, the building trades, or in small business management.
• Will be attending an accredited school of higher education or an accredited vocational program.
• Will have a high school diploma or equivalent by August 1, 2025.

Application and all supporting materials must be postmarked by March 1, 2025 to be eligible for consideration.  Scholarship winners will be notified in April 2025. 

Scholarships are paid directly to the school upon verification of enrollment. The award must be applied to tuition, room, or board.

Previous scholarship applicants may reapply.
